A smooth Uzbekistan trip starts with document checks before flights and hotels are confirmed. Passport rules, visa eligibility, airline requirements, and hotel registration can depend on nationality and route, especially on multi-country programs.
Passport and visa basics
Travelers should check that their passport is valid for the full trip and preferably for several months after departure. Uzbekistan has visa-free access for many nationalities and an official e-visa system for others, but rules can change and should be verified before payment.
If the route includes Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, or Turkmenistan, check every border separately. A traveler may enter Uzbekistan easily but still need a visa, permit, or special timing for a neighboring country.
Hotel registration
Hotels in Uzbekistan normally provide registration slips or electronic registration for foreign guests. Keep confirmations until departure. If you stay in apartments, guesthouses, yurt camps, or remote areas, ask in advance how registration will be handled.
