Tour Description

This route takes you into one of the most unusual landscapes in Central Asia: the former bed of the Aral Sea and the wide open spaces around Nukus, Muynak, Ustyurt, and Lake Sudochie.

Why this route works

  • Travel through places that are rarely included in standard Uzbekistan itineraries.
  • See the ship cemetery in Muynak and the dramatic story of the Aral Sea in context.
  • Cross remote desert scenery, abandoned settlements, lakeside views, and Ustyurt plateau landscapes.

Best for

Travelers who want a raw, documentary-style journey rather than a classic monument-only tour. Expect long distances, simple logistics, powerful scenery, and a route that feels very different from Samarkand, Bukhara, or Khiva.
